This Mum…

Hi there, I’m the voice behind Diary of a Teen’s Parent.

I’m a 45 year old mum to three amazing girls, aged 11, 14, and 18. Life with them is a wild blend of eye-rolls, deep conversations, unexpected wisdom, and daily emotional plot twists. If you’re a parent of teens (or tweens), you know that raising them isn’t a chapter, it’s a whole epic saga.

This blog is my place to process that story.

I created Diary of a Teen’s Parent as a way to capture the moments, big and small that shape our lives together. Those hilarious, painful, awkward, heartwarming snapshots that slip through the cracks of everyday chaos. The ones we think we’ll never forget… until we do.

You won’t find parenting advice here (at least not the expert kind). What you will find is honesty, humour, and a heap of relatable anecdotes. This is a space for the real stuff: the midnight worries, the unexpected wins, the conversations in the car, the slammed doors, and the quiet, powerful moments in between.

Some of the experiences I write about are deeply personal. While I share them through my own lens, I know that parts of those stories ultimately belong to my daughters. My goal is to honour those boundaries while still writing with honesty, care, and heart.

If you’re parenting teens, about to enter that stage, or just curious about what it’s like – welcome. You’re not alone. Grab a cuppa (or something stronger), and come along for the ride.
